Australian Reptiles

We are lucky to live in a country with one of the most diverse and largest range of reptiles in the world. Boasting over 110 species of Frogs, 17 species of turtles, 248 species of lizards, 107 species of snakes and 2 species of crocodiles most of which can be kept in captivity with the appropriate reptile license and a suitable reptile enclosure that has all the necessary reptile lighting, heating and Reptile furniture. Keeping a reptile is like owning any pet you must be able to give them a quality of life that is the same or preferably better than they would have in the wild. You must be able to properly feed, house and care for the reptile as it is now depended on you for survival. You should have some basic knowledge of the type and species of reptile (i.e. Where the reptile comes from, What climate does it need, What its natural habit is and what it eats.) This will help you set up your reptile enclosure to insure success. Never release any unwanted reptiles back into the wild, dispose of them to someone who has a recreational wildlife license.
